On September 3rd, new changes to the Howard County Public School System were set in place by the Board of Education including the dress code reform, the no-extra-credit policy, and the abolishment of the class rank system.
On Friday, September 20th, Atholton students participated in the Global Climate Strike. After walking to the football field, students signed their names on an earth-decorated parachute and listened to their peers speak on the importance of activism.
A new school year has come and with it, a new class of seniors. All their papers said grade 12 instead of 11, they had the luxury to park in the senior designated lot, sit in the senior cafeteria, and were struck with a new, grand priority—college applications.
On May 9th, the Howard County Board of Education released a revised policy for the Students Dress Code, which will take effect this July.
